Her dedication to the garden means that she often comes in on weekends and holidays to volunteer.  Her compassion and service behind the scenes make her deserving of this award.

HORACIO GARCIA
Fire

Horacio is a Certified Los Angeles County Fire Department (LACFD) Explorer.  For the last five years, he has volunteered for multiple County public education events, memorials, and the Explorer Training Academy.  The training staff relies heavily on Horacio’s knowledge, leadership, positive attitude, and most of all his ability to be a mentor to new Explorer candidates.  Horacio is a perfect example of what a LACFD Explorer should be.  Horacio is a young man with courage, commitment, integrity, respect, and most of all someone who cares about the community The Fire Department serves.  The Fire Department would be lucky to call him one of our own firefighters one day.
