The Los Angeles County Volunteer Program encourages community members, County employees, and County retirees to volunteer their time and talents to public service programs sponsored by departments across the County of Angeles (Board Policy 9.100).

Since the founding of this great nation, volunteers have strengthened communities by serving the needs of others, building bonds of trust among people, and enhancing the future for our children. For over 40 years, under the leadership of the County Board of Supervisors (Board) and through the support of our department leaders, the County has made great strides to advance its mission of service to our communities through the County’s Volunteer Program. The program has played a vital role in extending the County’s reach and impact, fostering a more personal and committed link to its many diverse communities through this public service offered by our own County residents.

County Volunteers contribute their time to a wide range of services provided by County Departments, some of which include hospitals, health centers, animal shelters, libraries, and parks. Volunteers can easily engage and serve their communities by registering on the County of Los Angeles Volunteer Portal
