Medical Plan Updates: 7/13/2020
Kaiser Permanente (Kaiser)
- Kaiser has partnered with fitness industry leader ClassPass to enable members to stay active from anywhere at anytime.
- With ClassPass, members get access to free unlimited on-demand video workouts, including dance and meditation; and reduced rates on livestream and in-person fitness classes, including bootcamp and yoga
- Additional information can be found at kp.org/exercise
- Members were provided COVID-19 testing updates on how to request testing, where to get tested, and how to access test results.
- Kaiser is running up to 3,000 COVID-19 viral tests per day in Southern California, with results available within 24 hours. When needed, Kaiser is sending tests to outside labs to help meet demand
- Members who get tested by a licensed provider outside of a Kaiser facility will need to pay for their tests and file a claim form for reimbursement. If the member tests positive, a scanned copy of the test results must be sent to member’s doctor’s office
UnitedHealthcare (UHC)
- UHC provided information on the latest expansion of COVID-19 testing.
- Under the Public Readiness and Emergency Preparedness Act, the Department of Health and Human Services has authorized licensed pharmacists to order and administer COVID-19 tests
