Coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19)

Medical Plan Updates: 07/12/2021

Kaiser Permanente (Kaiser):

  • Through July 31, 2021, Kaiser will continue to waive member out-of-pocket costs for COVID-19 treatments, related to a positive COVID-19 diagnosis.
  • Walk-in COVID-19 vaccinations are now available at most Kaiser vaccination sites. For locations and times, visit https://healthy.kaiserpermanente.org/southern-california/health-wellness/coronavirus-information/covid-vaccine/vaccine-availability.html
  • Kaiser reminded members to join their ImmUNITY Sweepstakes, which rewards vaccinated members and individuals vaccinated at a Kaiser facility by July 9, 2021, with a chance to win trips, healthy meal delivery, fitness equipment, and gym memberships.  For additional information, visit kp.org/covidvaccine.
  • Kaiser is now offering COVID-19 saliva home collection kits. To order a testing kit, members will first need to check their eligibility and complete an e-visit.
  • Members that received their COVID-19 vaccinations outside of a Kaiser facility can now log into kp.org and place a “COVID-19 Vaccine Card” e-visit, to update their vaccination status on their Kaiser medical record.

Cigna:

  • With the intent of providing members with factual information from trusted, reliable sources to address COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy, and assist members with making the best decision for themselves and their families, Cigna shared six videos concerning the development and safety of the COVID-19 vaccines and a flyer noting the effectiveness, safety, protection, and availability of the COVID-19 vaccines.
